About skateboarding in general
Skateboarding have a rich history, full of innovations, but also intriguing. The oldest types of skateboards
were very similar to scooters. These devices were from early 1900 and were linked by two wheels or four. Early versions had a recess in the board , and in that recess was a rod that had at the end a handlebar . It was the device that control the direction of travel. Over time, the children removed the handlebar and began to move using only the board and two or four wheels. Wooden boards began to be widely used .
In 1950 changes were made to the device that supported the wheel, and children began to handle the whole gear more easily. By the early ’60s, surfers began to be attracted to the sport and began to practice it increasingly more.
The first skateboarder park was built in Florida in 1976. Was soon followed by other parks in North America. The sport has become increasingly well known that the style has changed from horizontal to vertical movements. Slalom and freestyle became less popular. The best known in this branch are Tony Alva, Jay Adams and Tom “Wally” Inoyoue. Wes and Jim Muir Humpston marked the first appearance of painted boards having the signature Dogtown. Soon after more and more athletes have chosen to color the boards. In 1978, Alan Gelfand invented the “ollie” or lifting of skateboarding in the air. The practice began with the decision of athletes to try new moves while jumping.
If you want to grab the skateboard the first thing you have to do is to buy a board. Do not choose the most colorful, that’s not important, but often it cost them up. You must be careful not to be too big for you and to be bent. And wheels are important. They must be as robust. Special shoes for the sport help a lot. Are designed to be stable and to protect ankles. You can buy it from sports shops. When you have the necessary equipment you must learn the first tricks.
The first thing you got to know is to stay on board. To push it and how to keep the balance. To learn that you need about a week.
