Pentecost Island’s youngsters do, and still do, this test of manhood, which marks the end of a period in their lives and becoming men. The ritual is very simple. Bungee jumping is basically a big jump from high altitude (several hundred meters). The person who jumps, is related to the end of an elastic cord which is caught by the place where it performs the jump. When performing the jump the rope stretches to a maximum and then the jumper is pulled up and down, due to elasticity rope, until it loses all its initial energy to jump. Aeronautical sports such as bungee-jumping site is extremely dangerous if those who practice it do not own a proper sports equipment. Besides the equipment, aeronautical sports practitioners must know the techniques of body position during jump. Elastic rope is the key equipment for bungee jumping. There are two types of strings, those in the gum and the shelled ones. Ropes of gum are recommended for practicing some extreme sports like bungee jumping site. They are made up of over 1,000 individual stripes gathered in a strong elastic cord. Ropes of gum are recommended for flexibility, it reaches 4 times their length during the jump.

Statistically speaking, one bounce is as dangerous as going with 200 miles/hour by car (about one chance in two million, to die). Until now there were millions of jumps and there were registered very few accidents. Almost all accidents occurred because the rope was not securely attached to the jumper or platform. The practice of this sport requires a lot of courage, endurance and mental and most of all will.
From a health perspective bungee jumping is not recommended for people who have heart problems, suffering from diseases of bones, muscles and eyes and nervous system.
There are 150 meters under you. You are nervous … what if the rope will broke? No this could not happen, you are not so unlucky. Fear is stronger and stronger but the “thirst” for adrenaline is higher. You breathe deeply and you throw yourself … the dive continues, and continue forever. Then comes the rope of which you are linked and it is pulling you back. The recovery is strong, smooth and charming beyond description. When you come back down to earth, you have a feeling of serenity and calm.
